The 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl occurred on January 1st, 2024, at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, Florida. This was the 38th annual ReliaQuest Bowl and it pitted the Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten against the SEC’s LSU Tigers.

Coached by Brian Kelly, the LSU Tigers, boasting a 9-3 season record and a 13th-place ranking in major polls, marked their third ReliaQuest Bowl appearance. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, instrumental in LSU’s post-Jayden Daniels era, shone by throwing 395 yards and three touchdowns, leading to a dramatic 35-31 comeback win over Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Badgers, under Luke Fickell’s guidance, came in with a 7-5 record, making their sixth bowl appearance. Despite a 14-0 initial lead, they couldn’t hold on. Quarterback Tanner Mordecai completed 27 of 40 passes.

The game was an emotional whirlwind, showcasing both teams’ grit. LSU, initially down by 14, caught up by halftime with 14 points in the second quarter. The third quarter remained tied with each scoring 14 points. Ultimately, LSU clinched a 35-31 victory with a 7-point final quarter while shutting out Wisconsin.

Garrett Nussmeier, the game’s MVP, was pivotal in LSU’s comeback with 395 yards and three touchdowns. His performance not only earned him the MVP but also heralded LSU’s new era.
