The Chicago Bears made a last-second comeback to win 16-14 against the Denver Broncos yesterday

The Bears had maintained a lead for most of the game starting in the 2nd quarter when Bears placekicker Eddy Piñeiro kicked a 52-yard field goal to give the Bears a 6-3 lead. He had kicked a 40-yard field goal earlier in the game.

The Bears added to their lead at the end of the 3rd quarter when running back David Montgomery scored with 1:14 remaining on the clock. Pinero kicked the point after.

With 35 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter the game appeared to be a definite win for Chicago with the Bears holding their 13-6 lead. But, the Broncos scored with only 33 seconds remaining, decreasing the Bear’s lead to 13-12.

With 31 seconds remaining, the Broncos opted for a 2 point conversion bringing the score to 14-13, Broncos.

With one second on the clock, Eddy Piñeiro was able to make a 53-yard field goal as time ran out. It was his third successful long yardage attempt of the game.

The final score was 16-14, Bears win.
