A third group of 39 Palestinian detainees have been released as the trading of hostages between Hamas and Israel goes on for a third day under a four-day ceasefire agreement.
Early Sunday, Hamas gave over 13 Israeli prisoners, including nine kids and four foreigners – one Israeli Russian and three Thais – as a component of the cease-fire. These were delivered by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Hamas said in a press briefing that the Israeli-Russian emancipated was in light of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s endeavors and in acknowledgment of Russia’s backing of Palestine. He is the primary male hostage to be set free since the temporary truce happened.
US President Joe Biden stated that Abigail Edan, a four-year-old girl of Israeli-American origin, whose guardians were killed in the October 7th Hamas assault on Israel, was among those set loose.
Biden affirmed in his comments that Abigail is free, and she’s in Israel, adding that another American resident of dual citizenship – a 45-year-elderly lady – was also released. Biden additionally encouraged the two conflicting nations to stretch out the treaty deal to take into account more prisoners’ liberation.
Osama Hamdan, the leading Hamas’ spokesman, told Al Jazeera from Beirut that they hoped that President Biden would encourage Israel to end its conflict in the Gaza Strip.
