President Biden tried to pass a vaccine mandate for all businesses of over one hundred employees, but it quickly went to court. It first was paused by a lower court, and then that was overruled by another judge. Most recently, the Supreme Court blocked Biden’s vaccine mandate for businesses. The Supreme Court ruled it to be unconstitutional this past Thursday(1/13/22) for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to force employees to receive the vaccine or be tested regularly for covid-19.
President Biden has been pushing for people to get the vaccine against covid-19 and thought that the mandate would work to convince people that they need it. The Supreme Court ruled that he overstepped his authority and misused his power by trying to force those who don’t want the shot to take it. While they said that this cannot go into effect for businesses, the Supreme Court is allowing it to go into effect for some health care workers.
