In the efforts to support Ukraine through the ongoing war with Russia, President Joe Biden’s administration has approved a $200 million military aid package. The decision occurred after Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky recently visited Washington to seek more assistance from the US. The aid is critical for Ukraine’s defense system, although it faces some challenges in the domestic approval process.

The approval of $200 million in military aid for Ukraine was announced by President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. The package includes artillery ammunitions, air defense interceptors, anti-drone and antitank weapons. The support aims to enhance Ukraine’s ability to deal with urgent operations on the battlefield.

The announcement of the support was made in Washington after President Zelensky met with US lawmakers on Capitol Hill and the White House visit. The Pentagon’s approval of the aid package signifies a broader international effort to support Ukraine amid the ongoing hostilities with Russia, which started in February of 2022. President Biden acknowledged the urgent operations demands for Ukraine and emphasized the commitment to supply them with critical weapons and equipment.
