The 2021 Grammys had one of the lowest turnouts this year for any of the past Grammys. There were notable appearances by some artists and a few performances that drew a lot of attention and criticism from around the world. One of those appearances included Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, who got up on stage and engaged in a performance that put a lot of people at odds with the award show for the night.

The Grammys have faced growing criticism over the years and a decline in numbers. The winner’s list from this years 2021 Grammy’s includes names like Megan Thee Stallion, Beyonce, and even Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy. It was the 63rd annual Grammy Awards and had a variety of performances this year. Beyonce was recognized as one of the most decorated female artists of all time. Album of the Year went to Taylor Swift with Folklore, Billie Eilish also got Record of the Year for the Grammy awards this year. It was an event to catch that was seen by millions of people but still declining in popularity over the years. This is one of the least popular shows for award shows but remains one of the biggest as far as the artists who perform and win. There are a growing number of artists that seem to be boycotting the award show though for one reason or another.

Other winners this recent round included Dua Lipa, Fiona Apple, Thundercat, Miranda Lambert, Harry Styles for Best Solo Performance, and Bad Bunny. Historically we’ve seen tens of millions of people watching the Grammy Awards but this year they had less than 10 million people watch the live event which is a record low.
